SW News: A shooting in the US city of Baltimore, Maryland, left two persons dead and 28 others injured. Police said three persons are still in critical condition.
The incident took place in the Brooklyn Homes neighborhood just after midnight, where people had congregated for an occasion dubbed Brooklyn Day.  The suspects' identities are unknown.

According to the city's acting commissioner, more than a dozen of the victims were under the age of 18. He said the party was attacked by many gunmen. Police have urged individuals to come forward with any information regarding the incident as the shooting's motivation is still unknown. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott told a news conference that this was a reckless, cowardly act.

“All of Baltimore is grieving the lives that we lost here and our hearts are with all those that are recovering as a result of this mass shooting," Scott said at the conference. "This investigation is ongoing, and our homicide detectives will continue to work until they find out what happened here but what we do know this morning is this is a reckless cowardly act that has happened here and has permanently altered many lives and cost two people their lives," he said.

“We will not stop until we find you and we will find you. Until then I hope that with every single breath that you take that you think about the lives that you took and you think about the lives that you impacted here tonight. It again highlights the impacts and the need to deal with the over-proliferation of illegal guns on our streets and the ability of those who should not have them to get their hands on them and also the need for accountability on every level when you're dealing with guns and gun violence,” Scott added.

One 18-year-old woman was found dead at the site, according to a police statement, while a 20-year-old man passed away after being transferred to the hospital.

Nine people were still hospitalized as of Sunday afternoon, several of them in severe condition, while 19 of the injured had already left hospitals. The victims' ages varied from 13 to 32, according to acting police commissioner Richard Worley.
