SW News: The US is in shock after several mass shootings across the country claimed the lives of 10 people as Americans were preparing to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday. In the state of Texas, three people died in a gun attack in Fort Worth and eight others were injured. The incident took place during a local festival, said police on Tuesday.

On Monday evening, five people lost their lives in another mass shooting. The gruesome attack took place in Philadelphia in which a man donning a bullet-proof vest sprayed bullets on strangers. In the shooting, a child and a teenager were injured.

This came one day after two people were killed in yet another gun attack at an outdoor neighborhood block party in Baltimore. In the attack, as many as 28 people were wounded. According to police, the motive behind the three attacks remains unclear.

According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw, they arrested a 40-year-old man who is believed to be the assailant. Addressing media persons, Outlaw said that they have no idea why this happened. Meanwhile in Fort Worth, police said they have not arrested any suspects yet. Senior police officer Shawn Murray said, "We don't know if this is domestic-related, if it is gang-related. It is too early to tell at this point."

On the other hand, Baltimore Police said they are tracking down more than one suspect in the shooting incident.

The series of mass shootings occurred as the nation was about to commemorate the anniversary of the Highland Park gun attack near Chicago in which seven people were fatally gunned down and 48 others sustained injuries during and Independence Day parade. A 22-year-old man has been indicted in connection with the gun attack and he faces 117 felony charges.
