Police arrest suspect behind Catholic church vandalism in Colusa county

SW News: Colusa police department in California announced that it arrested a person who is suspected to be behind the vandalism that happened this week at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Colusa county.
On 28th October, Colusa Police Department on its Facebook page said that the department arrested 67-year-old James Stoltenberg and “subsequently booked him in the Colusa County Jail.”
The incident happened on October 25. According to CBS News, the Stoltenberg is suspected to have broken into the church on that day, causing $10,000 worth of damage. According to the media, visuals from the sight show the desecrated baptismal font, the tabernacle thrown, and the Eucharist scattered across the altar.
“Several religious artifacts including the altar were desecrated/destroyed,” the police described about the incident.
The police department also announced that investigations are still ongoing and the department is in touch with the archdiocese of Sacramento.
The vandalized church is over 100 years old.
