Cincinnati:

As the November election approaches, there have been several complaints of theft and damage at Catholic institutions in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in America, including schools, churches, and cemeteries.

Many Catholic homes have started erecting yard signs and other display displays in opposition to Issue 1 on the ballot. Issue 1 is all about the proposal to introduce a constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights. Several of these institutions, however, have stated that their signs have been stolen or that their property has been damaged.

On October 18, the Incarnation Catholic Church in Centerville had its front entrance window painted to cover up a sign that had been put on the inside of the glass. During the night of October 29 and the morning of October 30, several Vote No yard signs were taken from the grounds of St. Bartholomew Church in Cincinnati and replaced with ‘Vote Yes’ signs.

Signage on the grounds of St. Mary Church in Oxford was vandalized, and multiple yard signs were stolen from Cincinnati's Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains.

This constitutional amendment, titled "The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety," was proposed by the people and will be voted on as Issue 1 on November 7. If the initiative succeeds, Ohio voters will determine whether to add a constitutional amendment ensuring access to abortion, fertility therapy, and miscarriage care.
