SW News: The U.S. Supreme Court has reversed the decision of a lower court suspending an in-person requirement for pregnant mothers wanting to obtain the abortion pill mifepristone during the COVID-19 pandemic. The country’s top court was reviewing the decision taken by a federal judge in Maryland last July which concluded that, due to COVID-19 restrictions, pregnant mothers could be prescribed the abortion pill remotely and have it delivered or mailed. That was appealed by the U.S. Department of Justice who won their case at the Supreme Court last Thursday by 6 votes to 3. Hence, pregnant mothers will again have to obtain abortion pills in person until, at least, the end of the Trump presidency next Wednesday.
