SW News: The Church in Portugal has resumed its preparations for the next World Youth Day which will take place in the Iberian nation in 2023.  The global gathering of Catholic young people was due to take place in the capital city of Lisbon in 2022, but that date has been pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The planning for the event is being led by the Auxiliary Bishop of Lisbon, the Most Reverend Américo Aguiar.  Last week, he chaired the first World Youth Day planning meeting since the COVID-19 outbreak. Speaking to the media, Bishop Aguiar explained that he had recently informed Pope Francis of the latest developments in Rome.  He stated that the Holy Father is both excited and calm in the knowledge that, “things are happening”.
