SW News: The Chinese Communist Party has embarked on a sinister program to rewrite the Bible to subvert Christianity and make it totally subservient to the state to serve its motives.

There are reports that already efforts are underway to rewrite parts of the Gospel. A case in point is the Gospel of John where Christ meets the men who accuse a woman of committing adultery. He tells them “Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her”. When the crowd slowly disperse, Jesus tells the woman, “’Has no one condemned you? No one, sir’, she replied. ‘Neither do I condemn you’, said Jesus. ‘Go away, and from this moment sin no more.’”

However, this anecdote of love and forgiveness has been given a diabolic twist by the Chinese Communist Party. They have portrayed it as the story of a dissident who challenges the authority of the state. In the Chinese version of the Gospel of St John, Jesus Himself stones the woman accused of adultery.

Reports also point to Communist officials going to the extent of forcing Protestant Churches in Henan province to replace the Ten Commandments with the quotes of Premier Xi Jinping. For instance, the first commandment, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me” is replaced with the diktat “Resolutely guard against the infiltration of Western ideology”.

It is the 10-year project of the party to rewrite the Bible and other religious texts so that believers will give first priority to the state rather than the almighty. During the 19th Party Congress, Xi had said, “We will insist on the Sinicization of Chinese religions, and provide active guidance for religion and socialism to coexist.”
