Vulgar joke on Jesus forces Australian show to apologize

SW News:
The Australian talk show ‘The Project’ was forced to issue an apology over a lewd joke on Jesus made by an on-air guest Reuben Kaye, a comedian, who joined the hosts on February 28.
Reuben Kaye's suggestive comments mocked the crucifixion of Jesus.
A day later, the hosts released an apology video on behalf of the show for the “deeply and needlessly offensive” joke after receiving backlash from the viewers. Sarah Harris, one of the hosts of the show said that such a comment was “unpredictable” and that “there wasn’t a lot of time to react in any sort of considered way.”
Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher has published a statement expressing his “deep disappointment at the public mockery of Jesus Christ.” He added, “The apology offered on the episode of 'The Project' aired on Wednesday 1st March came across as forced and insincere.” Further, he also mentioned that the “apology video was not posted on the Facebook page” and that the joke was still available for the viewers to watch.
At the end of his letter, Archbishop Fisher invited the panelists and the production team of the show to visit St. Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney to “better understand what Christians believe and why attacking these beliefs is inappropriate.”
