SW News: The hit television series The Chosen portraying the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples continues to grow in popularity and climb to new heights of success. It is set to overtake the internationally popular television show Baywatch as the most dubbed show ever made.
President and Executive Producer of The Chosen, Brad Pelo, said the show is set to have more dubbing this year and will surpass the Baywatch series. Baywatch currently holds the record among television series with 34 dubs, while The Chosen is set to translate into 50 languages this year.
Pelo said that contributions to the Come and See Foundation, which plans to dub the series into 600 languages, have paid for a significant portion of the dubbing.
Come and See Foundation is a group of believers and skilled professionals who will work with The Chosen to expand its influence and reach globally. According to their website, their objective is to assist The Chosen in achieving its goal of having a billion people encounter Jesus through this series and related content by offering resources, technology, ministry connections, and expertise.
The TV series takes a new look at the life of Jesus and has taken the world by storm in a short span. This mega project relied heavily on crowdfunding. Directed by Dallas Jenkins, the series stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus Christ. The Chosen's highly anticipated fourth season began filming in March 2023, with an expected release date in early 2024.
