SW News: A statue of Jesus located at Holy Savior School in Lockport, Louisiana, has been found beheaded. The Lockport Police Department has initiated an investigation into the incident. According to the police department, "This incident occurred during the nighttime hours of September 12, 2023, to September 13, 2023." "During the morning hours of September 13, 2023, officers with the Lockport Police Department were dispatched to a vandalism report at Holy Savior School. Officers observed damage to the statue in front of the church," they stated in a Facebook post.

Meanwhile, the second nine-day annual novena campaign organized by the advocacy organization CatholicVote to mobilize the faithful to pray to St. Michael for the protection of churches and Catholics across the country will begin on September 19. According to CatholicVote, more than 350 Catholic churches in the United States have faced attacks since May 2020. "Our 2nd Annual Novena, leading up to the Feast of the Archangels on September 29, will once again bring Catholics across the country together to ask our Lord and St. Michael to intercede for us. That is our most important mission," states the organization's website.
