SW News: Veteran British Catholic politician Sir David Amess, who was murdered by a Muslim hardliner earlier this month, will be laid to rest on November 23. The funeral service will take place at Westminster Cathedral. The requiem Mass will be presided over by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. It will be attended by all Members of Parliament, staff, family, and friends.

Sir Amess was repeatedly stabbed to death while interacting with members of his constituency at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex on October 15. Twenty-five-year-old Ali Harbi Ali, a British citizen of Somali origin, has been charged with murdering the veteran politician. The police have confirmed that it was an act of terrorism. Three days ago, a memorial service was held at St Margaret's Church in Westminster to pay tribute to Sir David.

A staunch Catholic, Sir David strongly opposed abortion and supported pro-life activities. He was a married man with five children and served as MP for almost 40 years. At the crime scene, Fr. Jeffrey Woolnough, the priest at St Peter's Church in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, was not allowed to give the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick to Sir David.
