SW News: In a significant revamp, the National Union of Parents (UNPF) has disclosed that a federal judge has issued a restraining order to suspend the distribution of the new textbooks throughout Mexico.
Several reports have emerged stating that the books in issue have at least 400 mistakes. Furthermore, there are suspicions of a possible bias in favor of President Lopez Obrador's administration.
The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and local governments have been ordered not to distribute books until the legal status of the new materials has been determined.
According to Israel Sanchez Matos, a UNPF representative, public funds were used to produce the textbooks. Matos also voiced worry that these textbooks do not adequately portray current happenings in the nation.
Matos further underlined that it is not possible to meet unmet demand by providing inefficient products. Similarly, he noted that the books were not supplied for free because of the costs connected with book shipping.
The books have come under fire for including sex education content that Christians find offensive as well as for promoting gender ideology. Furthermore, education specialists have expressed worries about the books' apparent lack of pedagogical efficacy.
The Mexican UNPF recently presented 112,594 signatures to SEP in a proactive effort, and these signatures acted as a forceful message, emphasizing the necessity of ensuring that kids have access to the required educational tools.
