SW News:

Catholic bishops in the United States of America officially began the registration process for the upcoming National Eucharistic Congress on Tuesday. It is for the first time in 83 years that the Congress is being held. According to the event's website, the National Eucharistic Congress will be held in Indianapolis from July 17 to 21 next year.

The Congress, which will last for five days and feature prayers, lectures, and liturgical celebrations, will serve as the culmination of the bishops' three-year National Eucharistic Revival campaign, which got underway on June 19, 2022.
The National Eucharistic Revival campaign began as a result of a 2019 Pew survey that found that only 31% of Catholics agree with a fundamental tenet of their religion: that the Body and Blood of Christ are genuinely, really, and substantially present in the Eucharist. Next year’s congress will be the 10th National Eucharistic Congress and the first since 1941.

According to the official website, the Church will develop a closer relationship with Eucharistic Lord at the National Eucharistic Congress, allowing His love to open eyes and ignite hearts.

The entire Congress will be a time of prayer as a liturgical act giving the Catholic Church to God the Father, via the Son, and through the Holy Spirit, including those in Indianapolis and across the nation. This reconsecration will result in a great outpouring of grace and fresh missionary sending as participants are driven to share the Eucharistic love of the Lord "for the life of the world" (John 6:51).

There will be a variety of talks and special events tailored to all vocations and walks of life. The website notifies that a list of compelling Catholic speakers will be announced soon.

“In the Eucharistic celebration, Jesus Christ extends an invitation for us to go back to the foundation and pinnacle of our faith. The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement that seeks to rekindle our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and to bring awareness and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States.”
