Diocese of Cleveland promotes Eucharistic Revival through billboards

SW News:
The Diocese of Cleveland has installed 33 billboards with quotes from well-known Catholics, such as St. Jerome and Pope John Paul II, who have all stressed the importance of the sacred sacrament as part of the National Eucharistic Revival program of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. These billboards are on every route in this diocese, which spans eight northeast Ohio counties and Lake Erie.
The initiative was a part of a bigger marketing campaign that would result in substantial faithful gatherings the following summer, according to Father Damian Ference, the diocesan vicar for evangelization and secretary of parish life and special ministries.
A Catholic publisher, Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) described Father Ference as saying that they wanted to talk about the Eucharist since people weren't used to seeing them preaching out in the public.
He continued, "Individuals are sharing photographs and comments on the diocese's endeavor to make known the rebirth, and it appears that it is succeeding as billboards are starting to emerge on social media at the same time.”
"The US Conference of Catholic Bishops' National Eucharistic Congress will be held in Indianapolis from July 17–21, 2024, and preparations have already begun. To organize the congress, a body named the National Eucharistic Preachers was established, and sign-ups will begin in February. Local congregations from throughout the USA are taking part. The initiative's stated goal is to strengthen Christians' relationships with Jesus Christ via the Sacrament of the Eucharist.”
While studying for his PhD in Rome in 2021, Father Ference, co-director of the Cleveland diocese's Eucharistic Revival campaign, remembers being given the command, "Just get the gospel out any way that you can, using billboards if you have to."
