The movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ has turned out to be one of the top ten grossers of 2023 in the United States. It was produced on a low budget and has managed to gain popularity among the viewers beating some top favourites as well as high budget films. The film is on number 10 spot on the annual yearly list of the top-grossing films released by BoxOfficeMojo.com with a total box office of $184,177,725.

According to CBN News reports, Sound of Freedom, is a faith-based drama based on the true story of former Homeland Security agent Tim Ballard who sets out on a mission to rescue small child from sex traffickers in the Colombian jungle.

In the process, Ballard ends up saving 123 people, 55 of whom were children, from one mission alone. The movie, that no theatrical company wanted to release to theatres initially, turned out to be a surprise hit. The Sound of Freedom outperformed some mega-franchises like Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, Indiana Jones, Dial of Destiny and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.

The movie stars Jim Caviezel, Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino, Bill Camp, José Zuniga, and Eduardo Verástegui. The captivating trailer of the film featuring lead actor Jim Caviezel of “Passion of the Christ” fame, declaring, “God’s children are not for sale” has won hearts. The movie opened on July fourth and is streamed and distributed by ‘Angel studios’ that had earlier launched the hit series – The Chosen.
