San Francisco:
Even rain couldn’t wash away the unkindled spirits of those people who were determined to raise their voice for the unborn children at San Francisco’s Walk for Life West Coast. The city, on Saturday, witnessed pro-life advocates and supporters peacefully rally against abortion at the 20th annual Walk for Life West Coast.
The event that began at Civic Center plaza saw thousands of pro-lifers walking down the market street towards Embarcadero plaza holding a banner in the front that read ‘Abortion hurts women’.
Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco Archdiocese offered his prayers before the commencement of the walk.
Lila Rose, the founder and president of the anti-abortion organization Live Action, addressed the gathering and made them aware that despite what the media tells and how politicians behave there are thousands of pro-life families and millions of pro-life people in California. She further added that over 32,000 boys and girls have been saved because of the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
Rose said, “We are here today, to march, to celebrate, but we are also here to march to face the great darkness in our state,” revealing that there are over 150 abortion facilities across California. She further stated that during the pandemic, when the churches were forcibly closed, the abortion facilities were considered essential and were kept open.
The Live Action founder said, "There's a lot of pro-abortion power and infrastructure built by the politicians here, but pro-life America is not leaving."
She said, “The most important job of the humanity is to recognize and cherish the value of every human life.” Rose reminded the crowd that the most sacred task of a mother and a father is to raise the next generation.
The anti-abortion activist Rose asserted, “Future belongs to children and the future belongs to families raising those children.”
The founder of Springs of Love Kimberly Henkel, the President and founder Of BlackGenocide.Org Clenard H. Childress, Jr. and singer Kaya Jones were the other prominent speakers of the event.
This is the second march after the United States Supreme Court overturned its ruling, in June 2022, declaring that the constitution does not confer the right to abortion. The pro-life rally is scheduled every year on or around the day the Supreme Court legalized abortion through the 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling.
