Washington, DC:

The March for Life Education and Defense Fund has declared "With Every Woman, For Every Child" as the rally's theme for January 19, 2024. At a Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC, March for Life president Jeanne Mancini and three other pro-life speakers discussed ways to improve services for expectant moms and their children.

Dr. John Bruchalski, the founder of the pro-life organization Divine Mercy Care, and Whitney Lipscomb, the deputy attorney general of Mississippi, were on a panel of experts discussing the resources available to pregnant women with Mancini. She underlined that pro-life activists stand with pregnant women and their families not just during pregnancy but even after it has ended. She continued by saying that pro-lifers support both the mother and her unborn child.

Despite the difficulty, we believe that making the decision to live is worthwhile, empowering, and ultimately beneficial to others around you. She said that the fear-based narrative that unexpected pregnancies make women unable, incompetent, or unsuitable to become mothers is what fuels the desire for abortion, while, in fact, the opposite is true.

Instead, Mancini emphasized the need to let women know about the many pro-life resources available to them, such as love, compassion, and no-cost programs that are available to them. Another speaker Jean Marie Davis, executive director of Branches Pregnancy Resource Center in Brattleboro, said the center's services serve sex-trafficked women, domestic violence victims, and expectant parents.

Dr. Bruchalski is an obstetrician-gynecologist in northern Virginia who claims to have converted from being an abortionist. His clinic engages closely with pregnancy resource centers and other pro-life groups.
While most abortions were illegal in Mississippi, the state did create a program called Access to Maternal Assistance to support expectant mothers.
