“The Chosen” gets Netflix’s “Most Liked” badge

SW News: Within a week after the launch of the television series "The Chosen" based on the life of Jesus Christ on Netflix, it has become one of the most popular titles and it has earned the distinction of being one of the “most liked” shows.
Apart from the Chosen App, the series is available on many free platforms including Peacock and Amazon Prime Video. It was released on the world’s most popular paid streaming service with over 220 million paid subscribers, last week.
The series’ creators said that in its third season, it became the "first multi-season television series" on Jesus and His followers.
According to TechCrunch, an American online newspaper discussing technologies and start-ups, the eight episodes of the first season received the “Most Liked” badge on Netflix, a new feature that “indicated when a show was one of the most thumbed up by Netflix subscribers who had watched it.”
"We want to introduce the world to the authentic Jesus," Katherine Warnock, head of original content for The Chosen, said. "Netflix is an amazing partner in that they can instantly get it out to 194 markets [countries], whereas if we were doing it slowly, bit by bit, it would take us far longer," Warnock added.
Warnock said that the introduction of the Chosen on Netflix is a "gateway" to reach those "that we haven't reached yet."
"It's for those that maybe want nothing to do with Christianity, but they're like, 'This sounds fascinating,'" she said. "... [It's] pushing outside of the echo chamber even further," Warnock continued.
